The German Cycling Federation (BDR) has nominated the new German Elite Champion, Judith Krahl, and the new German U23 Champion, Hannes Degenkolb, from the Franconian team Heizomat p/b Kloster Kitchen. Judith Krahl, the 3-time German U23 champion, will compete in the U23 category for the last time at the World Championships before exclusively participating in Elite competitions.

In the Netherlands, up to 30,000 spectators follow the major Cyclocross races live on site. Cross there is a spectacle with a festive atmosphere. The short circuit of just under three kilometers is marked out on a relatively small area, the public is always in the thick of it, while the riders repeatedly pass by or run or even carry their cyclo-cross bike on their shoulders up climbs or stairs.
