HOMELAND IN A BOTTLE: KLOSTER KITCHEN'S NEW SMOOTHIES
This spring, Kloster Kitchen is looking beyond the bottle in terms of taste: The ginger shot manufacturer is cooperating with the Nuremberg smoothie expert kraftschluck and taking on another product category. From April, the new smoothies will be available online – without any ginger pieces, but with an extra portion of hometown feeling. The beverage scale-up is launching three organic flavors: Apple-Carrot-Rhubarb, Apple-Strawberry-Pear and Cucumber-Spinach-Mint-Apple.
Kloster Kitchen's success story began around nine years ago. Meanwhile, the brand from the Nuremberg region has not only established a new beverage category but also sold over 56 million servings of premium ginger shots. Now, the scale-up is conquering another world of taste and entering the smoothie market in cooperation with the Nuremberg startup kraftschluck. "Through the cooperation with kraftschluck, we were able to specifically utilize our knowledge exchange and thus realize our common approach of anchoring sustainability in our smoothies. Therefore, it was particularly important to us during product development to work with regional suppliers, not only to strengthen our home region but also to provide consumers with a natural taste experience. The result is three perfectly balanced smoothies, whose ingredients are from German cultivation, 100 percent organic and vegan. In addition, they contain no added sugar or other artificial additives," says Mario Fürst, CEO and founder of Kloster Kitchen.
The two founders of kraftschluck, Florian Weiß and Philipp Köstle, are also pleased with the successful partnership: "The cooperation with Kloster Kitchen was enriching for us. Our products are characterized by local ingredients and sustainability. This project demonstrates how innovative and environmentally friendly products can be created through cooperation, which inspire."
Broad World of Taste – Close to Home
No time for a balanced breakfast, or the afternoon slump announcing itself with a rumbling stomach? Then the Kloster Kitchen smoothies provide a healthy snack. There is something for every taste: be it a bright orange smoothie with apple-carrot-rhubarb, a velvety red one with apple-strawberry-pear, or a crisp green one with cucumber-spinach-mint-apple. The concentrated power of local fruits and vegetables curbs small hunger and has comparatively fewer calories and sugar than smoothies with exotic fruit varieties.
The local superfoods offer even more advantages, as the ingredients have shorter transport routes from the field to the bottle compared to exotic fruits. And that's not only good for nature: "Fruits usually lose many of their vitamins and good ingredients during long storage and transport," says Michael Decker from the organic farm Biohof Decker, who supplies the fruity haskap berry for the red Kloster Kitchen smoothie.
The smoothies will be available from April exclusively in the Kloster Kitchen webshop and on Amazon. The smoothies are available in a three-pack starting at a price of EUR 9.87 and the six-pack is available starting at a price of EUR 19.74.
About Kloster Kitchen:
This tuber packs a punch! On a journey to the roots of good taste, company founder Mario Fürst discovered the ginger tuber. And a traditional recipe from the monastery kitchen, from which the brand name Kloster Kitchen is derived. The secret of the company from the Nuremberg metropolitan region: through a self-developed processing method, the tubers are neither crushed, pressed, nor ground. The fine ginger pieces provide a unique taste experience. The products are 100 percent organic and vegan. They contain zero refined sugar, zero colorants and preservatives, and zero artificial flavors. Kloster Kitchen convinces – in the truest sense of the word – with excellent taste: The company first won the "German Brand Award 2020" and was subsequently honored with the "German Innovation Award 2021". In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Kloster Kitchen products can be found in retail chains including REWE, EDEKA, Famila, and Hit, in wholesale (Metro), in organic markets, in drugstores, as well as on Amazon and in hotels. Or conveniently with a few clicks in the online shop.
