STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 ml red smoothie
  • 100 ml milk (or alternative)
  • 2 g matcha powder (Ceremonial Grade)
  • 70 ml water (approx. 70°C, not boiling)
  • a few fresh strawberries
  • some ice cubes

COLD FOAM

INGREDIENTS

  • 30 ml cream
  • 30 ml milk (or alternative)

PREPARATION

Pour the red smoothie into a large glass and add ice cubes. Slowly pour the milk over the ice cubes to create a clear layering.

Pour 70°C warm water over the matcha and whisk it into a foam for about 1 minute using a chasen or an electric milk frother, moving in a W-shape. Carefully pour the frothed matcha over the milk using a spoon.

For the cold foam, put the cold cream and milk into a tall container. Whisk for 30-90 seconds with a milk frother or hand mixer until a creamy, airy foam forms.

Carefully add the cold foam to the matcha only at the very end. It stays nicely on top as a light, creamy layer and provides the typical "coffee shop look." Alternatively, the Strawberry Matcha Latte can of course also be enjoyed without the cold foam.

Finally, decorate with a fresh strawberry, add a straw, and your Strawberry Matcha Latte is ready!
