SUCCESSFUL SEASON START 23/24
At the double race weekend in Lützelbach and Bensheim, Hesse, the team delivered strong performances and collected important UCI points.
In Lützelbach, the weekend started with a bang from the team's new Swiss rider, Loris Rouiller. Despite an early crash, he made an incredible comeback with an impressive chase and secured first place. This earned him the first important UCI points for the Heizomat p/b Kloster Kitchen Team. Lars Sommer, who stayed in the leading group for a long time, finished the race in a respectable 7th place after a crash. Furthermore, the reigning German U23 champion, Hannes Degenkolb, claimed 11th place.
In the women's race, the reigning German champion Judith Krahl crashed while leading in the first lap. Despite this setback, she fought her way back to 5th place.
The second race on Sunday in Bensheim once again saw strong performances from the Heizomat cycling team. The winner from the previous day, Loris Rouiller, struggled with technical problems at the start but once again demonstrated his fighting spirit, battling his way from 20th place to the podium in 3rd place. Lukas Herrmann and Hannes Degenkolb achieved solid placings in 11th and 14th respectively, as did Lars Sommer, who, despite his injuries from his crash the day before, finished in 22nd place.
For Judith Krahl in the women's race, things went well, and she finished the day in 6th place. The team management was very satisfied with the entire team's performance on the first race weekend:
"We are proud that our male and female riders successfully mastered the first two UCI races and earned important points. The weekend showed that we are ready to hold our own this season."
