What's the weather like in Jamaica?

Let's get down to brass tacks: What should you pack when heading to Jamaica? The island has a tropical climate, so it is typically very warm, with high humidity. The pleasantly warm high temperatures are above 30 degrees Celsius all year round, while the still pleasant low temperatures are around 20 degrees Celsius.

Nevertheless, there are some weather peculiarities of the island that you should be aware of. First, the rainy season(s): May and June, as well as September to November. By the way, in some regions of the island, it rains significantly more than in others. For example, in the mountains of the northeast, there is much more rain than on the south coast.

Jamaica is also located in the hurricane belt. From August to November, a different wind can certainly blow in this tropical paradise. So: hold on to your hats!

In winter and spring – roughly between December and April – the Caribbean island experiences its greatest influx of tourists. This mountain range stretches along Jamaica's east coast and offers numerous opportunities for hiking and trekking, including the famous Blue Mountain Peak Trail, which leads to Jamaica's highest peak.

The best-known legend states that the "White Witch of Rose Hall" Annie Palmer still haunts the estate to this day.
