KLOSTER KITCHEN OPENS UP MARKETS IN AUSTRIA AND SWITZERLAND

Kloster Kitchen, the market leader in the German shot segment, is also on a successful course abroad. While Kloster Kitchen ginger shots have established themselves on the Austrian market, the beverage manufacturer from Bavaria is enjoying strong growth in Switzerland.

Kloster Kitchen's Classic ginger shots have been listed in 254 Migros stores since this year. With the Ginger Shot Classic 12SHOTS, the 12-serving bottle with 360 ml content, the Swiss retail group has included the ideal bulk portion for home in its product range. Together with a sales partner, Pantarhei AG, the beverage manufacturer from the Nuremberg region plans to open up further sales channels. Pantarhei has been distributing the original with ginger pieces to various drugstores, pharmacies and private stores since 2019. Recently, the organic ginger shots have also been available in REFORMHAUS stores in Switzerland.

Mario Fürst, Founder and CEO of Kloster Kitchen, sees clear potential for ginger shots in both countries. The significant increase in private label shots and the overall increased competition show that there is demand for the product. "Here, of course, we want to position ourselves with our shot, which convinces with its uniqueness with the ginger pieces and a high level of quality," says Fürst. In particular, the unit profit of the Ginger Shot 12SHOTS is attractive for buyers. "We are pleased about the great demand. Expanding our business abroad is a strategically important step for us," says the Kloster Kitchen founder.

In Austria, Kloster Kitchen has been available in dm stores and at Metro since 2019. The following year, Billa Plus also listed the start-up's ginger shots. And in 2021, the ginger shots convinced the purchasing departments of Interspar and Sutterlüty, which belongs to Billa. All Austrian markets have listed both the Ginger Shot Classic 12SHOTS and the Ginger Shot Classic 2SHOTS with 60 ml content. "In addition to food retail, we also want to continue to advance into drugstores, organic distribution, and gastronomy. That's next on the agenda in both Austria and Switzerland," says Fürst. The beverage manufacturer from the metropolitan region is currently testing demand in France via an online shop in the local language.
